NeuroNet 

NeuroNet programs are fun, challenging 6-8 month programs designed to improve attention, memory, and learning in school-aged children. The exercises integrate movement, listening, and talking to help students automate the basic skills that provide the building blocks for more complex learning.

NeuroNet can benefit children who struggle with:

The difference between struggling learners and independent learners is often not the skills they have, but their ability to choose and use skills quickly and accurately. The struggling learner is often the child who thinks of the answer after the teacher has moved on to the next question. This is the child who looks at his handwriting and stops to fix a letter form after he writes it and sees that it isn't correct. Rhythmic Movement Training

Rhythmic Movement Training techniques are a drug-free approach for all ages to learning, emotional and behavioral challenges.  These movements are designed to integrate primitive reflexes, improve muscle tone, establish coordinated motor skills, relax the nervous system, and mature the brain.

Some challenges that can be helped are:

  • ADD/ADHD
  • Sensory processing disorders

Functional Vision Screening
Academic learning constantly places a demand for rapid efficient processing and recall of visual information.  Children with visual skills deficits may:
  • Fatigue when reading and writing
  • Be unable to sit still or stay on task
  • Reverse words, numbers, or letters
  • Have difficulty remembering spelling words
  • Frequently lose their place, skip words and lines
  • Have poor reading comprehension
  • Have difficulty copying from the board or a book
  • Have sloppy handwriting
Children who fail the functional vision screening will be referred to a developmental optometrist for additional evaluation.

Reading, Spelling, and Math Instruction
Multi-sensory approaches help struggling learners makes sense of and remember instruction in reading, spelling, and mathematics.  Orton-Gillingham-based methods are used for children who are diagnosed with dyslexia or suspected of having a reading disability.
